Communications Committee of the Convention People Party CPP wishes to assure the rank and file of our party that there is a historic transformation taking place within the party, which requires that members remain steadfast and committed in the face of challenges usually associated with such drastic political party transformations.
Since the 2008 general elections the CPP, has decided to travel the road of hope instead of despair, unity instead of division “forward looking instead of backward looking”. These developments reflect the true meaning of our motto “Forward Ever Backward Never”.
The current leadership of the party has voluntarily decided to sacrifice the rest of their four year term of office for an early congress which will see new leaders and a flag bearer elected at least 24 clear months ahead of the 2012 general elections. That is great news!
Committees at the national level have been reconstituted, and are working, leadership has authorized constituencies to hold polling station, ward and constituency elections; some constituencies have started work while others are obviously waiting for a task force set up by leadership for the purpose of reviving those constituencies.
The year 2010 will no doubt mark the turning point in our fortunes, as a party with the history and capacity to provide the transformation Ghana needs. To achieve this, members and sympathizers are entreated to remain united as one party to find solutions, contribute in their small or big ways in implementing the solutions; change the CPP first and then deliver the different Ghana our nation almost achieved when CPP governed the country.
The people of Ghana have given all of us a simple assignment: to organise, work together find big solutions to the big challenges facing our party and our motherland. We must work together first to make our party great and strong, and then get the mandate of the people in 2012 and change the direction of our country for the best.
