The award winning Super Morning Show of Joy FM Monday morning joined in the celebration of the 50th birthday of Pastor Mensa Otabil.

The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) turned fifty, Monday, August 31, 2009.

The General Overseer of the Global Revival Ministry, Rev. Dr Robert Ampiah Kwofie told Joy FM Dr Otabil had affected so many lives in Ghana, Africa and the world at large.

He said Dr Otabil looked younger than his age and “is a man of tremendous focus, intensity and dedication.”

Rev. Dr Ampiah Kwofie said even though Dr Otabil grew without the care of his parents as they died early, he never allowed himself to be held back. “He had to fend for himself…you would never look at him as somebody with a problem,” he added.

He said the ICGC boss has a lot more to offer humanity. “He shouldn’t retire at all. He should continue. You know the creativity, the ideas that reside him, I think he should continue to produce those things that dwell in him,” Dr Ampiah Kwofie emphasised.

The Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Group Limited, Mr Kwasi Twum also paid tribute to Dr Otabil.

He described him as “an inspirer and an enabler. He has changed many lives and has truly led the vision of his church, raising leaders, shaping visions and influencing our generation.”

ICGC recently marked silver jubilee during which Otabil announced several development initiatives, including a school foundation, a planned city.
