Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

Samuel Kwame Brako and the History of the Saviour Church of Ghana and the True Faith Church of Ghana

A new book by Dr Lord A. Adusei titled 'Samuel Kwame Brako and the History of The Saviour Church of  Ghana and the True Faith Church of Ghana' has been published on Amazon. The book was published in September 2026 and details the history of the founder of the Gyidi Church Samuel Kwame Brako as well as the history of  The Saviour Church of Ghana and the True Faith Church of Ghana.

This book is a historical account of the origin of the church known popularly in Ghana as Gyidi AsÉ”re which loosely translates as the Faith Church. The book traces the church’s founding to Samuel Kwame Brako who hails from Juaben in Ashanti. It recounts Brako’s birth in Juaben, his connection with the Methodist Church, his migration to Akyem Abuakwa during the Ashanti-Juaben War of 1875 and his calling by the Lord Jesus Christ to set up a purely sabbath church. It also tells the story about the SDA Church’s attempt to merge with Brako’s church in 1934 as well as Brako’s relationship with Edward Krofa and his brother Samson Krofa. Also in focus is the church’s liturgy, doctrine, beliefs and organisation. The book also focuses on the three key ministries in the Church: Evangelism, Prophetic and Songs as well as the spread of the church from Akyem Abuakwa to other parts of Ghana and abroad. The book also covers the death of Samuel Brako, the succession politics that followed his death and the subsequent split of the Church into The Saviour Church of Ghana and the True Faith Church of Ghana. Finally the book recounts the contribution of some key members whose contributions have been central to the growth and expansion of the church.

The True Faith Church of Ghana and The Saviour Church of Ghana After The Death of Samuel Brako: Power Struggles, National Politics and Socio-Economic Development

A new book by Dr Lord A. Adusei titled 'The True Faith Church of Ghana and The Saviour Church of Ghana After The Death of Samuel Brako: Power Struggles, National Politics and Socio-Economic Development' has been published on Amazon. The book was published in October 2026 and details the history of the True Faith Church of Ghana and The Saviour Church of Ghana.

The book recounts the history of The True Faith Church of Ghana (TFCG) and The Saviour Church of Ghana (TSCG) after the death of the founder Samuel Brako. It focuses on the administration of Elder Isaac Kwadwo Asirifi who succeeded Samuel Brako and the succession struggle that ensued between the two factions that tried to succeed Elder Isaac Asirifi after his death in 1997. The book also covers the misunderstanding between Elder Isaac Asirifi and Elders Stephen Doughan, Peter Mensah aka Obotan and Kwame Seth of Pra River. It also covers power struggles in the True Faith Church of Ghana (TFCG). It focuses particularly on the decisions by Apostles Samson Gyasi Yamoah, Joseph Brobbey, Paul Anokwa and Jeremiah Gyampo Awuah to break away from the TFCG. It also addresses the relationship between Apostle Abraham Nsiah and Bishop Joseph Ampadu which led to the formation of Faith Salvation Church of Ghana (FSCG) and the many schisms that FSCG has also suffered.

It highlights the death of Bishop Joseph Ampadu in 2009 and the power struggle that took place between the supporters of Apostle John Owusu Achiaw and Pastor Moses Appah which led to the formation of True Faith Evangelical Church. It examines the administration of Apostle John Owusu Achiaw, his death and the politics of appointing a successor to replace him. It focuses on the New Generation True Faith Church International (NGTFCI) one of the denominations that emerged after the death of Bishop Ampadu.

The book examines the underlying causes of the schisms, the consequences of the power struggles and attempt by certain individuals to unite the dismembered church. It considers the relationship between the True Faith Church of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party as well as The Saviour Church of Ghana and the National Democratic Congress. Since the death of Brako, both denominations have developed key institutions to aid the running of the church and the book covers these institutions as well as the changes that have emerged in both denominations since they went their separate ways. Finally, the book covers attempts by the TSCG and the TFCG to embark on socio-economic development particularly in the area of health, education and agriculture.
