Judge: I've No Powers To Preside Over Ken Agyapong’s Treason Case

The trial of NPP MP for Assin North, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, for treason related charges, suffered a "legal limbo" after the Magistrate Court in Adjabeng refused to sit on the case because it lacked jurisdiction to handle such matters.

The trial judge, Patricia Quansah, has therefore referred the case to the Chief Justice Georgina Wood for advice stating she has no legal powers to hear the case.

Amidst tight security, the Assin North MP, who is being tried for making treasonable comments after declaring war on his radio station Oman FM, has been moved from the court to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) head office after the case ended abruptly.
