The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) is set to announce who succeeds the late president as flagbearer in the 2012 general elections. Speaking on the matter on Election Headquarters on Joy FM Thursday, the IDEG boss was of the view that John Mahama, who was running mate to then flagbearer and sitting President John Mills, is the best marketed candidate the party has and it will be very prudent to endorse him as flagbearer. The NDC is reported to have settled on September 1, 2012 to hold congress where President John Mahama would be presented as the sole candidate for delegates to endorse.
