Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

The Member of Parliament for the Akwapim South Constituency and former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the Kufuor administration, Mr. O.B. Amoah has asked members and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party to cut down on the increasing spate of insults that has characterized the flagbearership campaign.

O.B. Amoah contends that those who profess to speak in the name of the NPP must be taken through anger management to control themselves and rid themselves of intemperate language to project a better name for the NPP.

He says if the media house call on a personality to speak and the individual thinks he/she is not ready, the person politely decline so as to spare the listening public of the insults on our airwaves which seem to becoming the mainstay of the biggest opposition party.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. O.B. Amoah says the insults are becoming way too much and must stop immediately because when all is said and done, whoever wins the NPP’s presidential slot must make an effort to work with all shades of opinion in the party.

Mr. O.B. Amoah says the media should also try and speak to neutral persons in the on-going presidential campaign as a way of sanitizing the system. He appeals to the media to play the role of mediating between opposing views and champion peace in the body politic of the country.

O.B Amoah was particularly concerned that if the needed care is not taken, the airwaves’ role of serving as the platform of mentoring and nurturing the youth will be lost.
