At a time the government is struggling to help kick out corruption from the country and also help to complete the construction of some major roads in the country, the Deputy Minister for Eastern Region, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, is alleged to have taken an amount of GH¢ 10,000.00 as kick back from a construction company called Adompoh Construction works.

He is said to have demanded the money through an agent before promising them to win a contract bid in the Eastern Region in one of the cocoa growing areas.

One Christopher Abavor, a supposed agent for the Deputy Minister was said to have received the money on his behalf.

Although, the company was not awarded any of the contracts in the region, greed took the better part of the Minister and he refused to refund the money given to him as kick back.

The Management of the company who felt duped by the actions of the Minister therefore reported the matter to the Madina Police to enable the Deputy Minister Refund the money but he, (Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi) has refused to respond to the call by the police since last year.

Meanwhile, when this paper contacted Mr. Christopher Abavor, on the matter, he confirmed that he took the money to the Minster but it was rather unfortunate things did not work well for the company and promised that the money would be refunded to the management of the company in the coming week.

When the Minister was also contacted on the allegation, he told this paper that Mr. Christopher Abavor is a criminal and has issued a disclaimer on him for the public not to do any business with him.

He debunked the allegation saying “I don’t even know the company you are talking about” adding that Christopher has made up his mind to use his (Terlabi) name to collect huge sums of money from innocent Ghanaians and promising to give them jobs.
