Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

Mills Is Second Rate President…He’s Just Team ‘B’ Player!

Related Stories
The National Youth Organizer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Mr. Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, has described President John Evans Atta Mills as a Team ‘B’ President.

He has said that it is only a second rate president who would appoint a second rate ministerial team, and so the accusations by DR. Ekwow Spio Garbrah, and the Rawlingses that the President’s team was mediocre and second rate was a reflection on the President’s own abilities. “I am deducing that the kind of ministers he set up, the team you see on the field of play are only a reflection of what bench constitutes that team.

So if we have Team ‘B’ players on the field of play, then that must also mean that we have got a Team ‘B’ bench or a Team ‘B’ President or a second rate bench. I am saying that it is only a Team ‘B’ Coach who would field a Team ‘B’ team on the field,” Mr. Bomfeh said. Mr. Kwabena Bomfeh was speaking to the Daily Searchlight in a follow-up interview to similar comments he had made on an Accra based radio station.

Explaining, Mr. Bomfeh said that the import of his message was that the import of his message was that certain leading members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) such as former 1st Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah had expressed difficulties with the way and manner the NDC government was performing.

He said that these leading NDC members had described the NDC ministers as Team ‘B’ ministers because the President himself has had the occasion once or twice to be forced to come out to defend his own policies and programs which ordinarily could have been done by his ministers.

He said that the President being forced to come out to defend his own policies and programmes perfectly fits the description by Spio Garbrah and others that his team is Team ‘B’.

“The Ministers are not kind of ministers who should be in there, especially when there are some people with the clout, ability and knowledge to have done better. I am deducing from the kind of ministers you set up, the team you see on the field of play, are only a reflection of what bench constitutes that team, so if we have Team ‘B’ players on the field of play, then that must also mean that we have got a Team ‘B’ bench or a Team ‘B’ President or a second rate bench.

I am saying that it is only a Team ‘B’ coach who would field a Team ‘B’ team on the field,” he said, adding that even a nominee to be a Minister had said that his colleague minister was part of the Team ‘B’ set up. He said that because he was a Team ‘B’ President, President Mills has been responsible for various egregious constitutional breaches.

Explaining, he wondered how somebody with a background in law could be responsible for the many grave constitutional breaches Ghana has witnessed in recent times.

He cited as an example the appointment of Presidential Staffers without approval by the Council of State, the institution of a state of emergency at Bawku by a person describing himself as a representative of the President at the Ministry of Interior, and the formation of the Ishmael Yamson Committee in complete breach of a decision of parliament.

“It was the same president who set up the Ishmael Yamson Committee to review an act of parliament in the nature of the approval of Chinery Hesse Committee report, a decision that was completely unconstitutional, and it is only a Team ‘B’ President who would engage in these constitutional breaches!” Mr Bomfeh said.
