Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

It has come to light that, the unity talk that was held in the former President’s house was his own initiative to rebuild the cohesion of the party in the face of the incessant attacks from the ruling NDC.

However, reports in the media which have been deliberately slanted and twisted to present the f former President as someone who is out of tune with events in his party has really infuriated the former Chief Executive of the country.

According to sources close to him, the meeting, which was held in the presence of all the major political forces within the NPP tradition present, was supposed to be a platform for frank and honest dialogue.

And in fact, insiders who were present at the meeting attest to the former president’s genuine attempts to bring all forces together in order to present a more cohesive unit as the party prepares for 2012.

The independent can report that, the former President is said to be deeply disappointed that, instead of focusing on the kinds of things that could propel the party back to power in 2012, there are some elements, who contrary to all available evidence have embarked on a mission to tarnish the former President’s image within the party and make him the fall guy for the party’s loss in 2008. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Information is beginning to emerge about the huge amount of resources that was mobilized in support of Nana Addo’s presidential bid, which flies in the face of the propaganda coming from some elements close to Nana Addo, who deliberately and consistently present the opposite to party faithful, the Independent Newspaper has learnt.

The meeting, which was attended by about 30 party gurus last week Tuesday included Nana Akufo-Addo, Alan Kyerematen, former Vice President Aliu Mahama, Mr Osafo Maafo, Apenten Appiah Menkah, Mrs. Gladys Asmah and Kwame Pianim, among others.

The source close to the former President told newsmen that, the former President is angry about the fact that, the meeting, which he called to mend fences within the NPP has now been twisted negatively against him.

The source said, “this is very unfortunate especially as the former President Kufuor meant well by organizing that meeting as a prelude to other such meetings expected to place the party on a stronger footing.
