Government says it has regrettably come to its notice that former President Kufuor has not been paid for the past six months. This was due to the directive given during the transition period that no official payments should be made until government directs such payments.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said the Chief of Staff has immediately directed the Controller and Accountant-General to pay the former President all his emoluments.
Meanwhile, the recommendations of the Ex-Gratia Awards is ready and is being studied by the President.
