A shipping vessel suspected to be carrying narcotic substances has been intercepted at the Tema Port.

Officials of the Narcotics Control Board who are currently conducting further investigations say the vessel is from Brazil.

The vessel, MV Saint Ephraim is said to be labeled 'sugar'.

If it is confirmed it will be the second time in two years a narcotics-hauling vessel has docked in the country. The first was MV Benjamin whose cargo disappeared without trace.
