An Accra circuit court on Wednesday August 4 acquitted and discharged the wife Mrs. Zuleika Asamoah Boateng but found her guilty on the last count of using abusive language on a BNI officer.
The charges were leveled against her after she allegedly fought officers of the Bureau of National Investigations when they attempted preventing her husband and the family from flying outside the country.
The Asamoah-Boatengs’ were being investigated for causing financial loss to the state in the award of an 86,000 Ghana cedi refurbishment contract to Plexicom, a company belonging the Zuleika’s sister.
Judge Adwoa Coleman acquitted and discharged Zuleika of the first two charges but cautioned her on the last charge of abusing a BNI officer, and warned her not to repeat the offence.
