Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

NDC Guru Blasts Editor

The 2008 Campaign Coordinator of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency of the Central Region, Mr Adom Botchway has taken a swipe at the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Mr Ken Kuranchie for suggesting that the Central Regional Minister, Madam Ama Benyiwa-Doe is putting up a plush mansion at Apam after just eight months in office.

The Daily Searchlight Newspaper in a recent publication, sought to question the source of funding for the purported mansion being put up by the one-time vociferous radio panelist after just eight months of office.

But the NDC 2008 campaign coordinator who is obviously unhappy about the whole story is of the opinion that, the argument put up by the newspaper is flawed, baseless and unfounded. He has therefore accused the Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Searchlight, Mr Ken Kuranchie of putting out a baseless, unsubstantiated and concocted story about the hardworking minister.

He questioned why The Daily Searchlight kept silence during the Kufuor administration when Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng put up a Mansion at the time he was a minister of state. He therefore advised Mr Ken Kuranchi and other Ghanaian journalists to desist from making baseless statements about state officials.

Mr Adom Botchway advised Mr Ken Kuranchi to respect public officials and stop making unsubstantiated allegations against them. He expressed the view that, Madam Ama Benyiwa-Doe is entitled to whatever she is enjoying today because “she has worked hard for it.”

He underscored that the Central Regional Minister has worked as a Deputy Minister under former President Jerry John Rawlings’ administration, adding that, she has worked as a civil servant and a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa-East.

“If Hon Asamoah Boateng can put up a mansion why not Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe,” he fumed and urged Mr Ken Kuranchi to do proper journalism.
