DCE assaults police; frees suspects

 
 
  
 
The District Chief Executive for Wa West Mr. Seidu Tumbani is reported to have single handedly masterminded the release of three suspects from police custody at the Wechawu Police Station in the Municipality without following due process.

Asempa News’ sources say the DCE in the company of his Special Aide, stormed the police station Friday afternoon and ordered the officers on duty to release the suspects.

The suspects were arrested upon a complaint lodged at the Police station by one Kofi Mmo, who claims that the suspects had allegedly threatened to kill him.

The police upon hearing the complaint proceeded to effect their arrest.

The source says Mr. Seidu Tumbani and his aide then followed-up and allegedly assaulted physically the complainant leaving him with body pains and minor injuries.

The Police in Wa are said to be preparing a dockect to charge the MCE for and his aide for assault.

Inspector Adu Amankwah Public Relations Officer for the Upper West Regional Police Command confirmed this to Asempa News.

Inspector Adu Amankwah said the matter is being investigated and the DCE could be charged for assault.
