Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, says the National Youth Employment Programme should be developed to solve the acute unemployment situation in the country.

She said a long-term youth employment strategy was necessary to end the persistent agitations by foot-soldiers of the ruling party.

Mrs Rawlings told Luv FM’s Elton John Brobby that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), will face serious consequences at the next elections if the agitations and clamour for jobs by the party’s foot-soldiers were not met.

The NDC Vice-Chairman said the party’s supporters had expectations which gave them hope and aspirations, but activists “are not seeing their way clear, that is why [there] is a lot of murkiness in the body politic of our supporter base.”
