How is former president Rawlings responding to this corruption allegation against his government? Where is his mantra-probity and accountability? Is it not a shame that after constantly accusing members of the NPP of being corrupt his government is now being mentioned in a corruption trial in the United Kingdom and what does the trial say about him and his government?
Rawlings has always portrayed himself as saint and his opponents as vampires, corrupt evil doers. The trial in UK is an indictment of his personality, his PNDC/NDC regimes and all that he stands for. He has no moral right to accuse his opponents of corruption when he and members of his government continue to appear in court. He should do a soul searching after hearing this prosecution because there is no doubt that it has tainted his government and his personality.
He who lives in glass house need not throw stones. Rawlings thought his shady deeds are hidden but thanks to the Serious Fraud Office in UK we can know what happened during his corrupt PNDC/NDC rule.
