He lauded the major role being played by the Institute in the promotion of Health Care in Ghana and the continent in general and called for more funding from government to expand the institute’s research activities. The Director of Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, Prof. Alexander Nyarko said, the institute is making efforts to expand research into the development of herbal medicines for the treatment of diseases and has already partnered Phytica Limited in the private sector to develop and conduct clinical trials on a local plant for the treatment of malaria. The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency, Keiichi Katakami said, the establishment of the Moguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, has helped to promote the friendly relation between Ghana and Japan.
