Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

Can poverty be eradicated? What do you think?

A Survey by Christian Aid asking what action people think could help eradicate poverty this is what majority of the people said.

The results are in.

An overwhelming 90% of people believe poverty can be eradicated. That's great news.

But what do you believe is the most important step to take towards eradicating poverty? This is what you said...

24% End corrupt governments
22% Make international trade rules fairer
21% Improve access to education and health services
14% Halt climate change
8% Increase aid to poor countries
5% Curb tax dodging by multinationals

Take a look at what people have been saying and add your own response; do you agree or disagree?

Corruption is the biggest challenge and enemy to poverty eradication worldwide. Sadly the global effort to fight corruption is not as effective as it should be and that means poverty will continue to be with us for many years.

Can poverty be eradicated? We have always had poverty and just like the sex trade, it is not something we can switch off. There will always be people in need. Imagine the derivatives market that was worth around $500 Trillion (US dollars), yet people tell us there are others that do not have access to clean drinking water. How do we reconcile the two extremes is perhaps a better question.
