Police Officers Turned Armed Robbers Arrested
Two police officers, Constable Peter Nogma and Pascal Fellah, have been arrested together with a civilian accomplice for armed robbery.
They were arrested for robbing people who had legally acquired ammunitions from the Private Ammunition Depot Keepers at gunpoint.
According to the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Rose Bio Atingah, an initiative by the IGP, Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye, led to a meeting between the police hierarchy and the Ammunition Depot Keepers who revealed that their customers usually complained that they were robbed of their ammunition at gunpoint almost every time they purchased them by some young men in police uniform.
The police then authorized them to ambush the culprits, which led to the arrest of suspect Nogma.
Nogma later led the police to arrest Fellah who is an ex-police officer. Fellah was dismissed from the Service in 2002 for reasons the police did not disclose.
The Police Boss said the arrest of the police officers and their subsequent arraignment would set the tone for an in-house cleansing.
She said the IGP had noted that while searching for the criminals outside their fold, it was also incumbent on the Police Administration to rid itself of all the bad nuts that have sneaked themselves into their fold.
Paul Atiase, the third accomplice who was arrested at Abelemkpe had in his possession a Walkie Talkie handset number CP 040 he allegedly acquired from suspect Nogma.

We always blame Nigerians for terrorizing us not knowing it is our own soldiers and police officers who are trained to protect us.
