NPP will restore hopes of Ghanaians when voted into power-Jake

Winneba, Jan 2, GNA- Ghanaians are yearning for the day the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would deliver them from despair and difficulties forced on them by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Mr. Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, an aspiring NPP Chairman has said. He said the one year old rule of the NDC government had clearly demonstrated that the party had failed to match its deeds with the hopes and aspirations of the Ghanaian.

Speaking to the reporters at Winneba, after the Central Regional Delegates Conference of the NPP, Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey said the NPP would take over political power from the NDC in 2012 because of its inability to deliver Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, twice National Campaign Manager of NPP, urged the supporters of party to bury their differences to win power to restore the hopes and confidence of Ghanaians.

He called on the delegates to give him elect him as the National Chairman in the next National Delegates conference.

Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, former Minister of Information in the Kufuor administration, stated that he had capacity to turn the party into a more formidable and attractive entity to supporters and floating voters. He said when he was the NPP Greater Accra Regional Chairman, the party increased its Parliamentary seats from 9 to 16 and also won 52 per cent of votes in the Presidential election.

Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey urged the newly elected Central Regional Executives of the party to work extra hard, adding: "Central Region was the deciding factor in winning the Presidency in 2000 and 2004 general elections". The former Information Minister said his election as the National Chairman of NPP would go a long way to assist the party to come out of its current predicaments and also offer hope for the teeming supporters and sympathizers.
