Armed robbery in Ghana: Is the Police winning the war?
Over the last 6 months there has been countless number of arm robberies in Ghana resulting in high profile deaths such the cold blood killing of the deputy NPP Chairman of Dome Kwabenya constituency, Mr. OPoku Baah and serious injuries sustained by his visiting German friend.
The Daily Guide reported that passengers aboard three vehicles travelling from Mampong in the Ashanti Region to Accra on Friday were subjected to dehumanising ordeal when a group of armed robbers took them hostage and reportedly forced the male commuters to have sex with their female counterparts at gunpoint.
With no ending sight to these robbery activities the efficiency and effectiveness of the Police to arrest the situation has been called into question with some citizens calling for the army to be deployed. Giving that the Police Service is under resourced and also perceived to be corrupt will the Service be able to win the war against the heavily armed robbers?

How can the Police win the battle when its members are involve in the robberies? Some army officers have been arrested for taking part in the robberies so how do we defeat it?
