Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

Build on NPP positives and stop the blame game - Osei Adjei

Former Foreign Minister Osei Adjei has urged the government to build on the previous government’s positives and stop the blame game.

He said covering the government’s own inefficiencies by blaming virtually everything on the previous government and adopting guerrilla tactics to divert attention from the core issues affecting Ghanaians was completely unnecessary.

He was speaking to Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah on charges of willfully causing financial loss to the state preferred against him.

He is the first member of the ersthwhile Kufuor Administration to be officially charged by the government.

Mr Osei Adjei was arrested and charged for his role in the importation of rice from India at prices the government says were overly inflated.

But the former Foreign Minister rejects the allegations saying he only facilitated the importation of the rice which did not result in any financial losses to the state.

He was disappointed that he was not given the opportunity to explain the circumstances under which the rice was imported, adding that “I want to be accountable for what I did in the ministry.”

“Every document on the transaction is there, there were no underhand dealings,” he emphasized.

“Do you think you will get justice?,” Kojo asked him, to which he responded, “Of course. I trust in the legal system. Our judges are very sound and justice will prevail.”
