President Obama in Ghana, Oh my God I can't wait to see him
As President Obama prepares to visit Ghana there is great excitement among the Ghanaian populace as they also get ready to welcome and play guest to the world's most powerful man. President Obama's pictures have been found hanging in front of many people's homes and stores. Many people have travelled from all over the country just to catch a glimse of the man whose popularity in the world is next to none.
Ghana's former presidents John Koffour and Jerry Rawlings are expected to welcome the US President along side President John Evans Atta Mills. The euphoria in the country is similar to mood when President Clinton visited the country and when Ghana became the first country south of the Sahara to gain independence from Britain in 1957.
The visit is seen in Ghana as a reward for choosing the path of demeocratic governance and adopting market reforms that have helped to concretise Ghana's position as the gateway to Africa.
