Politicians urged to use dignified methods to attract followers
By Ghana News Agency
Sunyani (B/A), Aug. 23, GNA – Oboaman Nana Bofotia Boa–Amponsem II, Krontihene of Sunyani has advised politicians to apply violent-free and dignified methods in their bid to win more members into their parties.
He asked politicians to take a cue from Christ's example, who drew many followers unto Himself without endangering the lives of followers.
The chief was speaking at the Temple of Praise Church in Sunyani after a doctorate degree award was conferred on him by the Overcomers School of Ministries International at the 4th graduation and ordination ceremony for nine ministers of the School.
Oboaman Bofotia reminded politicians and chiefs that their positions required creative ability and not academic endowment only.
The award was in recognition of the chief's contribution to the development of his community and a pledge to provide a land for the construction of the Overcomers School of Ministries Theological University in Sunyani, in consultation with the paramount chief of Sunyani.
The chief reminded leaders to view their calling as an opportunity and a privilege and not a right.
Oboaman Bofotia advised the newly ordained ministers to respect and treat their followers well because besides, the Lord, they relied also on them (followers).
Bishop Life Peters, President of the School, said the ultimate goal of the institution was to proclaim Jesus by counselling and instructing interested individuals in all wisdom and encouraging people in Christian growth through professional training.
He exhorted the new ministers to be victorious in their time and helped enlarge the kingdom of God by being good ambassadors of Christ and the school.
Prophet Segun E. Timuoye of the Christ For All Outreach Ministries International, urged the ministers to be strong in God's faith because the devil was not afraid of their newly acquired titles and physical stature but rather how powerful they would become.
He noted that success in their activities would depend on their closeness to God and boldness to take risks.
Prophet Timuoye asked them to crave for the anointing in order to become problem solvers for their generation.
