Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

NDC warns against NPP infiltrators

The Upper East Regional first vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Richard Adua, has admonished the executives of the 13 constituencies in the region not to allow the party's opponents to infiltrate their ranks, as they elect branch and ward chairmen to oversee the affairs of the party.

"It has come to my notice that some faceless activists and influential figures of the party have clandestinely maneuvered for the election of certain people who were dormant in the party's cause while in opposition to achieve their parochial interests," he contended.

In a press statement issued in Bolgatanga, he stressed that it had also come to his notice that some newly defected activists of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been elected as ward chairmen in some constituencies.

He made known to the constituency executives that the people who infiltrate their ranks are covertly and overtly used by their opponents to create rancor and division in the NDC.

"I, therefore, remind the constituency executives to abide by the rules and regulations governing the election of branch and ward executives as stipulated in the party's constituency," he said.

Among such rules and regulations, be pointed out, are the prospective branch or ward executive should be an active member of the NDC for two years and be of good standing.

He cautioned the constituency executives to be wary of opportunists who have joined the party in their desire to benefit from the opportunities inherent in a ruling government.

"Some of these people never participated in the NDC's programmes and activities when in opposition and should be made to justify their genuine commitment to the party's cause before being given positions," he stated.
