Use common sense
Amanfo:
Do you know that there is a Ghanaian Rocket Scientist at NASA? What about the University Presidents and High School Principals all over the World? What about the Doctors in NY, London and Humburg?
Do you know that we have many College Professors, too numerous to count overseas? What about the Engineers and the Ministers of the Gospel? The others making it in the West are too many..........
Item: a group of University "Strong Men/Women" came from Ghana to the -?_ area to meet past students.
When the Deans were asked about the greatest need of their University, they said that they needed
lecturers.
When some of the alumini Profs in the US volunteered to teach for free during their Summer holidays, they were told that the University will be on recess too. What a loss!!! (The lack of common sense../?...)
A group of Doctors will be in >>>City very soon from the US.....to serve for free. When they volunteered to teach at a Medical School during their stay, they were told that........... (The lack of common sense......)
Are we serious in Ghana? Do we appreciate the number of Diasporans that we have who can serve the nation at a minimal cost? Give them only a stipend and see what difference they will make. What about the retirees who have retuned? What do we do with them?
The President can have an Office of Diasporan Affairs right under his nose and he will have all the "Expatriates" that he will need instead of "Aborofo nko aaa" who will take back the loans, etc. to their home countries indirectly.
Can we plead for an Office of Diasporan Affairs as Kojo Sam suggests? It has to be at the Castle with direct access to the President and a budget. These are for a reason. What reason?
Too many Diasporans have gone back home to serve but they have been rejected or hired away either by the UN or another country> We lose twice in this process. Do we need experts? What about our own?
Are you with me? Please develop Kojo Sam's idea and run with it. Ghana will never be the same if we value the diamonds in our backyard. (Read the first paragraph again, please.)
I rest my case... Thank you Kojo Sam for the idea.
Just passing along an idea....for free.
