Insist on Your Right to Education

Uneducated citizenry is like a pitch any game can be played on it. Illiteracy is what has given the politicians in Ghana the chance to fool so many people for so a long a time.

A massive ministerial reshuffle aimed at invigorating and injecting new ‘blood’ into efforts towards achieving the Better Ghana Agenda promised by President John Evans Atta Mills will soon be effected.

Leaked information about the intended reshuffle which has been confirmed by highly reliable sources at the Castle, the official seat of government suggest that some otherwise powerful but ineffective ministers would be kicked out of the government.

The authenticated list available indicated that Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, the incumbent Minister of Justice and Attorney-General would be moved to the Foreign Ministry whereas Mr. Martin Amidu, the present Minister for the Interior would occupy the Attorney-General and Justice portfolio.

Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni is to go to the Ministry of Interior where as Mr. Mike Hammah, the Minister of transport would be sent to the Central Region.

Mr. Mike Hammah would be assisted by one E.K.T Addo, a former Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) who is now a member of the NCCE Board as the Deputy in the region.

Ama Benyiwa Doe, the current Minister for the Central Region would be moved to occupy the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Madam Christiana Amoako Nuamah, the former Education Minister in the Rawlings regime would be the new Ashanti Regional Minister.

Mr. John Tia, the Minister of Information, Mrs. Hannah Tetteh, the Minister of trade and Industry, Mrs. Juliana Azumah Mensah, The Minister for Women and children Affairs and Ms. Akua Sena Dansua, the Minister for Youth and Sport will all be shuffled out.

No new names of persons to fill the post of the ministries of Information, Trade and Youth and Sports have come up, but it is suspected that Mr. Mahama Ayariga would be promoted to be the Minister for trade and Industry because of his perceived vibrancy and sense of commitment in the promotion of trade and industrial growth in the country.

Ms. Hannah Tetteh, though was active in her post as the Communications Director for the NDC 2008 election Campaign, the laxity and the diplomatic red tape associated with her official duties as a minister has deterred scores of investors and that is seen as her Achilles Heels.

It is not yet known what her new post would be. Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, the Ghana Palaver however gathered, is being moved to the Foreign Ministry because of her long association with the Commonwealth Secretariat where she nurtured her international diplomatic skills.
